Lucas appointed SA Chamber of Commerce Solidarity Walk Ambassador
Lucas joined Former Springbok International Andre Snyman as the latest South African public figure to be appointed as an Ambassador for the Solidarity Walk taking place from the 29th to 31st August 2020.
The Solidarity Walk is a global fundraising challenge initiated by the South African Chamber of Commerce to raise awareness and funds for the Solidarity Fund in South Africa.
Commenting on Lucas’ appointment, Sharon Constançon, SA Chamber chairman, warmly welcomed his support, saying “We are thrilled that Lucas Radebe has become a Solidarity Walk Ambassador. It is an honour for the SA Chamber to have such an inspirational sportsman standing in solidarity with us for this fundraising challenge.”
As Solidarity Walk Ambassador Lucas is calling on South Africans at home and abroad, as well as friends of South Africa to come together and show their support and solidarity for South Africans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by taking part in the virtual walk that aims to collectively cover a distance of 2,414 miles, the entire length of South Africa, from Cape Town to the Zimbabwe border, and back again.
Speaking in his capacity as a Solidarity Walk Ambassador, Lucas said, “The SA Chamber’s Solidarity Walk is a great way to show support for the Solidarity Fund. I will be walking in solidarity with the South African diaspora and friends of our nation who want to recognise the work of those helping the country overcome the pandemic”.
