Lucas commits Random Act of Kindness

Feb 28, 2014

Two weeks ago Lucas came across Brent Lindeque’s video “A South African #NekNomination”. He was inspired by what Brent did and decided to pay it forward too. With a few spare Highlights children’s magazines and some time on his hands, Lucas went to visit his former school, Ikaneng Primary, in Diepkloof, Soweto, and handed out over 200 magazines to children in Grade three.

“I love giving back, and to do it in Diepkloof, in Soweto, my hometown, always makes it even more meaningful for me,” said Lucas.

Today, these uplifting videos are referred to as Random Acts of Kindness or RAK  #NekNomination videos. The person doing the good deed almost always nominates someone else to pay it forward. Near the end of the video Lucas nominates his good friend and former teammate Mark Fish.  “I think, Tlappie, Mark Fish, will love doing something like this, he has a big heart and is passionate about helping kids,” said Lucas.
